Hotel Overview

Where

On a crossroads, just a few minutes’ walk from central Swakopmund.

Rooms at Villa Margherita

The style of Villa Margherita reflects its Italian ownership, combining chic modern decor with the traditional building.  Each of the eight rooms has its own style, blending antiques with contemporary paintings, and crisp white linens with brightly coloured walls and drapes. All of the bedrooms have TV and wi-fi, which is a welcome luxury, as a stay in Swakopmund often falls half-way through a stay in the wilderness.

Food and Facilities

All of Exsus’s guests in Swakopmund are given a list of restaurants that we recommend, but Villa Margherita does serve breakfast as part of your stay, and will open the kitchen for dinner with a bit of advance warning. This is friendly and home-cooked though, so don’t expect an eight page menu or white-gloved waiters!  Beyond this, there’s a small, pretty garden, and a lounge with a working fireplace (if you stay in June or July you’re sure to appreciate this!)

Activities at Villa Margherita

Swakopmund is either used as a pretty stop off between the dunes at Sossusvlei and the wildlife of Etosha, or as a base for some serious adrenaline sports. For those who are just passing through we’d recommend a potter around the shops, a wander down to the seafront and a trip to one of the town’s many excellent German bakeries.  Adventure lovers should take a kayak trip out to see the seals at nearby Pelican Point.  There’s also boarding on the dunes, hot-air ballooning, and quad-bike trips out into the desert.
