Azura Benguerra Island is in the Bazaruto Marine National Park on Benguerra Island, off Mozambique’s Indian Ocean coastline.

Rooms at Azura Benguerra Island

There are 20 hand-built private villas that combine modern chic with rustic Mozambican touches, only steps from the beach. All villas at Azura Benguerra Island have a private garden and plunge pool, including a sun deck and daybed, and are connected to the main lodge by paths of crushed-shells.

Food & Drink

Dining is a simple, understated affair combining local ingredients with contemporary style. The Jellyfish Restaurant offers up the catch of the day with wine that has been imported in from the owner's chateau in the Loire Valley. Whenever possible, you’ll dine on the beach under the stars, or on your own private sandbank only accessible by boat.

Head to the Star Bar for a refreshing cocktail or ask for a romantic sundowner on Jonas, a traditional dhow.

Facilities

With your own 'host' you will be well looked after throughout your stay on the island allowing you to just sit back and relax and take advantage of the activities and services available.

Let your muscles loosen up at the open-air African spa that offers natural treatments, with coconut, tamarind and aloe vera making up some of the ingredients, or request a treatment in the privacy of your own villa for ultimate relaxation.

For the diving enthusiasts, or those wanting to learn in a diver's paradise, there is a PADI dive centre, with training pool, providing superb access to turtles, manta rays, dolphins and dugong.

Don't forget to visit the boutique where you can buy local arts and crafts.
