Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The award-winning Cottar's 1920s Safari Camp sits on the eastern edge of the Masai Mara in a private conservancy spanning over 7,500 acres, bordering the Serengeti and Loliondo reserves. It is run by the oldest continuing safari family in Africa, and guests are guaranteed privacy, luxury and exceptional personal service, as well as an abundance of wildlife.

Rooms at Cottar's 1920s Safari Camp

The camp has just nine tents - four luxury double tents, four family suites and one unique honeymoon tent, all with private bathrooms. The family tents have living rooms with fireplaces to sit by in the evenings and all tents are situated to ensure privacy from other guests whilst having excellent views out over the savannah.

The spacious cream canvas tents are designed in signature 1920s style, and come with four-poster beds and touches such as vintage suitcases and vintage typewriters on antique desks.

For the ultimate in luxury, stay at the Bush Villa, an award-winning private, spacious villa for up to 12 guests, with its own staff, five bedrooms and a private pool. Enjoy gorgeous views over the savannah plains where you can witness the annual Great Migration.

Food & Drink

Dine by candlelight in the main mess tent with your fellow guests while listening to the echo of old tunes from the camp’s antique gramophone. The food and drink are the only real exceptions to the 1920ss theme as you will find all your meals have delicious modern flourishes added to them.

Facilities

In between game drives, cool off in the infinity pool or unwind in the spa.

Activities at Cottar's 1920s Safari Camp

As the camp is in a private conservancy, you will practically have the place to yourself on your daily game drives to spot the Big Five, witness the Great Migration and more. Expert guides will help you make the most of the abundant game viewing on offer - so expect some fantastic wildlife sightings! Experience a different side of wildlife spotting on a guided bush walk or a balloon flight over the Masai Mara, and visit local Masai villages.
