Where

The Andaman is on Langkawi within a cluster of islands off the West coast of Malaysia.

Rooms at The Andaman

There are 186 units at The Andaman, including the extra-special Japanese and Malaysian suites. In the rest of the Deluxe Rooms, and more spacious Suites, you'll be greeted with locally painted artworks and fruity-coloured accents for a truly tropical experience. Apart from these details, the interiors are light and airy, focusing on the jungle and ocean views. Continuing the tropical experience you can take an invigorating rain-forest shower in your cool marble bathroom.

Food and facilities

Traditional Malaysian spa treatments are enticing enough on their own, but even more so on The Andaman’s tree-house massage pavillions. After benefiting from the relaxing properties of nature, you can dine at one of three restaurants, choosing between inspiring Japanese cuisine, light snacks in your flip-flops, or – having selected fresh catches from the local fisherman – a lantern-lit dinner overlooking the bay. Couples and families will also be pleased to hear that there’s a brand new kids’ club, Young Explorers.

Activities at The Andaman

Rather than farming you out on generic island day-trips, The Andaman Langkawi has a dedicated team of naturalists who will share their knowledge and passion for Langkawi’s wildlife. This includes the incredibly rare flying lemur, the Great Hornbill, lizards, monkeys and over 300 species of butterfly. When the tide goes out, the guides can give you a tour of the fascinating coral reef on the shoreline, and when it comes back in you can go on a cruise through the mangroves. If nature isn’t your thing, there’s golf, kayaking, catamaran sailing and a large pool back at The Andaman beach. Further afield you can take an exhilarating zip-wire flight over the rainforest canopy.
