Fazenda do Engenho is located in the state of Minas Gerais, three and a half hours by road from Rio de Janeiro or one hour from Juiz de Fora airport.

There are eight sumptuous guest rooms at Fazenda do Engenho, all different but each demonstrating the same passion for detail and comfort, as well as history, local culture and art. All suites have king sized beds with Egyptian cotton sheets, and come with ipod docks, armchairs, havaiana flip flops, hairdryers and robes. 
 
Food & Facilities

The food in Minas Gerais is justifiably famous throughout Brazil and the restaurant showcases this regional cuisine using wonderful fresh local ingredients. From breakfast to dinner you’ll be invited to experience an array of mouth watering dishes prepared especially for you. At the Spa, a variety of massages are available which use exclusively produced natural products. Other facilities include the home theatre, sauna, hydro-massage pool and a relaxation area close to the beautiful Engenho waterfall featuring natural pools for swimming, a white sand beach and sun loungers. 

Activities at Reserva do Ibitipoca

Guests set off on foot, 4 x 4 or horseback (the stable has Mangalarga and Anglo-Arabian horses) to explore the extraordinary natural surroundings of waterfalls and mountains. There are 3000 stunning hectares of private protected park to explore if you can tear yourself away from the fazenda, spa and Engenho waterfall. There is also fishing, visits to the working farm or to the neighbouring State Park.
