Ipanema Beach, Rio de Janeiro.
Anybody looking for a dose of South American chic.
There are 82 rooms and 10 suites designed by Philippe Starck, ranging from the smaller Superior Rooms to Ocean Deluxe Rooms (the sea view is fantastic) and some fabulous suites. Each combines retro chic with contemporary style: think period furniture, original artwork adorning the walls, king size beds and walk-in showers.
The name Fasano is synonymous with good food in Brazil: owner Rogerio Fasano already owns 12 tip top restaurants and his Fasano hotel and restaurant in Sao Paulo has long been a firm Exsus favourite. Fasano Rio is no exception. The Fasano Al Mare Italian restaurant serves fabulous seafood, while the rooftop bar offers lighter meals during the day – and with a wonderful panoramic view. There is also an infinity rooftop pool, fitness centre, sauna and massage room to counter the excesses of Rio’s lively nightlife.
Rio has to be our number one spot for people watching and where better than on Ipanema Beach? The hotel also offers water sports if you tire of watching the cariocas at play, or talk to your Exsus expert about our special tours in Rio. A trip up Sugar Loaf and Corcovado mountains are a must, but our guides love to get you off the beaten track, too. Let us know if you have any special interests from hang gliding to samba classes and we can make it happen.
Too sleek and chic? Rio has lots of other options from quirky boutique hotels to the city’s Grande Dame, the Copacabana Palace, where a caiprinha by the pool before dinner still takes some beating.
