Couples and honeymooners looking for a local Brazilian experience.
The colonial town of Paraty, nestled between the mountains and the sea, four hours drive from Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro.
Casa Turquesa has nine cosy colour themed rooms each with double beds and en-suite facilities. Some rooms have beautiful views of the tiled roofs of the town and the bay of Paraty, and all are individually decorated to encapsulate the historic, warm essence of the town.
The lounge area or ‘internal patio’ is a welcoming prospect of deep woods and bright Brazilian colours. The hotel has a small outdoor pool for a refreshing dip and a cosy reading room with open fire for chilly evenings. There is also an in-house boutique full of unique local wares.
Paraty has an interesting history, which is still very much apparent in its quaint architecture and local churches which demand some exploring. We can also organise private excursions to uncover the town’s rich past, trips to local fishing villages and the beautiful beaches that surround the area.
Take a boat out for the day and make sure you stop for lunch at the Island of Catimbau, a truly wonderful local restaurant which has been built into the rocks. Swimming while your chef works up lunch is encouraged – definitely a good thing in our books.
