Those looking to enjoy the best of Argentine wines in a glorious, relaxed setting.
Two miles outside Cafayate, Argentina.
Reminiscent of some of the Cape wineries, Vinas de Cafayate is built in neo- colonial style, and has 12 rooms leading from a central courtyard, all with a private bathroom with a bathtub, a walk in closet, heating and safe-deposit box. The rooms have access to a spacious covered balcony enjoying views of vineyards, the imposing granite hills, and Cafayate Canyon.
The restaurant at Vinas de Cafayate serves regional gourmet cuisine, much of it using vegetables from the estate’s organic kitchen garden. A fully furnished wine cellar is open for tastings. There’s a swimming pool with panoramic views of the vineyards, and a cosy library with an open fireplace.
The hotel can organise wine-tasting at locally important wineries in and around Cafayate, ranging from the traditional and prestigious Etchart, Lavaque to small wine shops and premium wineries such as Finca Las Nubes de José Luis Mounier or El Porvenir. Mountain biking, canyon hiking, horse riding and cheese tasting are also on offer.
Condors are often seen riding the thermals at the top of San Isidro Hill which towers over the property.
