Nature lovers and those looking for a more upmarket base to explore Tayrona’s rainforests and beaches.
Ecohabs is located in the heart of Tayrona National Park, near Santa Marta, Northern Colombia.
The fourteen rooms at Ecohabs are round thatched cabins, spread across a forested hillside facing the ocean. All have private decks with hammocks and stunning views across the undulating green hills. Each room has a flatscreen TV and ipod dock, and a bathroom tucked underneath at ground level.
The two beach restaurants at Ecohabs serve up typical coastal dishes such as fish soup and grilled chicken, along with delicious fresh juices and a range of international dishes. There’s a small handicrafts shop and a spa with a Jacuzzi.
There’s a safe swimming beach a short walk from Ecohabs, with opportunities for snorkelling. The lodge can organize guided walks in the rainforest with indigenous guides from the Kogi and Wiwa people, who explain the history of the area and point out medicinal plants and herbs. Alternatively relax and soak up the pristine beauty of this untouched part of Colombia.
Take a seven kilometre guided hike from the Ecohabsto Pueblito, an atmospheric pre-colonial ruined village.
