Gourmets and gourmands.
Santa Cruz, Chile.
Silk, leather, stone and wood are the main decorative themes in the residence’s four huge suites, which are more like private cottages. Each of them has a different design scheme inspired by the four grape varieties that the winery uses – deep rose and cream for Merlot, and so on.
The expansive terrace, with its tiered swimming pool, is strewn with sofas for relaxing on a sunny afternoon with a glass of crisp white wine. The views on all sides of the vineyards and mountains are quite breathtaking. As for food, natural Chilean culinary flair comes out in flavoursome dishes made from organic produce sourced from the estate, and paired with the house wines. If you’re in need of some TLC, book in for a massage in the privacy of your room.
Surrounded by 650 hectares of beautiful countryside, the hotel is the ideal base for excursions on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback. A visit to the adjacent winery is essential, as much to admire the striking modern architecture of the building as to taste the world-class wines.
If you’d like to learn the secret of some of your favourite dishes, sign up for an alfresco cooking class on the terrace.
