In the dusty oasis of San Pedro de Atacama, Awasi is just a few blocks away from the main square.
Only 8 spacious rooms built using local materials. The adobe walls, wood floors and thatched roofs give each cottage a natural, earthy feel. Each is designed with rest and relaxation in mind with a private sun terrace, outdoor shower, reading armchair and desk.
A team of six chefs cook for a maximum of 16 guests ensuring all tastes and preferences are catered for, with an emphasis on native ingredients that have formed part of the local diet for thousands of years. Awasi also has a swimming pool for cooling dips during the heat of the day as well as plenty of shady spots to relax with a good book. There’s also a masseuse on hand to ease any aching muscles after a day in the desert.
Excursions are all on a private basis led by highly knowledgeable guides who take you to little visited areas. Activities include luxury 4x4 trips through incredible lunar landscapes, desert walks, horse riding over sand dunes, mountain biking across vast and eerie salt flats, visiting high altitude geysers and climbing volcanoes. It’s also well worth mooching around the fascinating little oasis town of San Pedro.
