Anyone interested in a pristine natural environment and watersports, both above and below the water. Families with active kids.
Tranquilo Bay is situated in Isla Bastimentos, 30 minutes by speedboat from Bocas Town, the main town in the Bocas del Toro archipelago, or 50 minutes from mainland Panama.
There are six spacious standalone Cabanas each with large wooden decks. The two closest to the lodge nestled in the jungle are best for families with young children the other four are a short walk away and have stunning ocean views.
Mealtimes at Tranquilo Bay are a lively affair – breakfast and dinner are usually eaten in the main lodge on a communal table with fellow guests and your hosts Jim and Jay and their families. Lunch is usually a delicious packed lunch. Food is homemade and wholesome using as much local produce as possible. After a hard days exploring, the comfy bar, library and entertainment room are a great place to relax.
There’s not much you can’t do at Tranquilo Bay – from kayaking to snorkelling and diving to hiking, surfing, both on and offshore fishing and nature walks with the resident biologist guides – but equally with some of the worlds most beautiful deserted beaches a short boat ride away, you can do absolutely nothing!
Sit on the deck with a cold drink as the sun is setting while keeping your eyes peeled for monkeys, sloths and tropical birds.
