Panama

While Panama is best known for its canal, the country offers much more than an engineering feat (although it's well worth a visit). Head into tropical rainforest for some of the best bird-watching on the continent, explore gorgeous archipelagos in the Caribbean or relax in a beautiful hotel on a spectacular Pacific coast beach. A luxury holiday in Panama combines easily with many other Latin American destinations so is a great stop off for some r&r.

Panama City & the Canal

A Havana-esque faded colonial old town, 'El Casco Viejo' sits next to North American-style skyscrapers, making for a compelling city with a fascinating history. A visit to the Panama Canal to see vast ships squeeze through the series of towering locks is a must.

Boquete

The spring-like climate of beautiful Boquete in the Eastern Highlands makes for a welcome break from the lowland heat. Renowned for the fertility of its black volcanic soil, coffee plantations are interspersed with orange groves and luxuriant gardens.  It is also an excellent base for adventure enthusiasts with fishing, riding, river rafting, ziplines and hiking.

Pacific Coast

The Pearl Islands boast some of the best sport fishing in Central America as well as great beaches and forests full of local wildlife. Dolphins, sea turtles, Humpback Whales and brightly coloured tropical fish await in pristine Pacific waters.

Bocas del Toro

Archipelago of tiny islands in the Caribbean, home to some great hotels, dazzling white sandy beaches, Punta Caracol, fabulous snorkelling, dolphin-spotting and tropical forest hiding tiny scarlet red frogs, native to Bocas.
