Perfect for

Honeymooners and couples – no children under 13.

Where

Nestled in the secluded hillsides of Beau Vallon Bay on Mahe, around 30 minutes from the airport.

And the rooms

26 Hillside Villas are elevated on stilts ensuring sweeping ocean views while the 13 Deluxe Oceanfront Villas offer uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean. The Ian Fleming Suite is a nod to the writer’s stays at the site of the hotel in its days as a private home, and offers luxurious accommodation on stilts over the ocean. Inside the rooms, the hotel adds a dash of local Seychellois colour to the otherwise neutral, understated palette of many of the islands’ other five star hotels, along with large terraces, king size four-poster beds, flat-screen TVs, rainfall showers and whirlpool baths.

Food and facilities

Dining at the Hilton Northolme is a real plus with three restaurants to choose from, ranging from informal buffets to fine dining (Les Cocotiers has a Michelin star chef). If romance is in the air, the hotel can arrange speacial candlelit dinners on your private terrace. There’s a lovely freeform infinity pool, fitness centre and spa staffed by Balinese therapists to ease all your tensions away.

Activities

Snorkelling is available right from the beach and a nearby water sports centre offers windsurfing, water-skiing, kayaks and catamarans. Take a Champagne sunset cruise, hire a car and explore Mahe or hop over to one of the other islands.

In the know

The hotel offers beautiful ocean views but the beach is fairly narrow, though the pretty cove below the bar is lovely for a swim.
