Old-style Caribbean charm in a simple but luxurious hideaway.
Bequia island is 9 miles west of Mustique, and can be reached by light air-craft from Barbados, or an hour’s ferry ride from St Vincent.
Bequia Beach Hotel has room for a maximum of 36 guests, in 8 types of simple yet pristine suites. Whichever one you choose, you’ll enjoy a great deal of privacy, and timeless Caribbean appeal. The private villas are a great option for families, who’ll have their own private terrace and plunge pool, whilst the Penthouse Suite makes the perfect honeymoon hide-away, with an open-air Jacuzzi and the best sea-views that Bequia Beach has to offer.
The Blue Tropic restaurant is perfect for romantic dinners under the stars, surrounded by the lush hillside gardens, and palm-trees swaying softly in the balmy air. Afterwards you can get chatting with the friendly locals at the Bequia Beach Bar which serves delicious Caribbean dishes, freshly caught fish, and the best Rum Punch you’ve ever tasted. Nearby, there are great local restaurants where you can sample all manner of dishes – including lobster pizza!
Teaming with a cornucopia of fish, the crystal clear waters surrounding Bequia Beach are ideal for snorkelling, and there are two scuba centres on the island. We can also arrange day sailing trips (crewed or bare-boat), giving you the chance to spot some dolphins. Back on dry land, you’re never more than 15 minutes by taxi to wherever you want to go, including the scenic natural harbour, Port Elizabeth. Here you can wander round the farmers’ markets, have some classic Caribbean dishes by the waterfront, and adopt the wonderfully sleepy pace of life.
Bequia (pronounced “beck-way”) is home to Old Hegg Turtle sanctuary where you can see the endangered hawksbill turtle up close.
