Rooms at Shumba Camp

Shumba’s six safari tents are raised onto wooden platforms with breathtaking views of the Busanga Plains. The huge tents have a four poster queen sized bed complete with billowing white mosquito nets, a wooden deck with a comfortable sunken sitting area, and a mosquito netting front that could allow you to see distant game while drinking your morning tea in bed. The beautiful bathrooms include an open-air shower.

Food and facilities

Early morning breakfasts at Shumba Camp are complimented by a substantial brunch on your return from the morning game drive. Dinner is a three course affair served under the stars on the wooden dining deck or in a cosy thatched boma. Many dishes are prepared in front of guests using the camp fire for an authentic safari feeling.

Activities at Shumba Camp

Guests come to experience nature at her finest, and this dictates your activities. While the bush is still drying out, boat trips and birding are fabulous, while later on in the season, there’s a focus on game drives and hot air balloon flights. A lot of emphasis is placed on the expert guides, whose knowledge, experience and enthusiasm really bring the bush to life.
