Rooms at Sanctuary Zebra Plains

The four tents at Sanctuary Zebra Plains are traditional safari style, with two double bedded tents and two twins. All of them have old fashioned colonial camp furniture, draped mosquito nets, en suite bathrooms and flushing loos.

Food and facilities

The open air dining tent at Sanctuary Zebra Plains, while charming, is rarely used in practice, as most guests eat their meals out in the open air, with staff setting up tables at beauty spots in the surrounding bush. There’s also a small library/bar for relaxing in the shade during the hot parts of the day.

Activities at Sanctuary Zebra Plains

The focus of activity here is of course walking safaris, and guests set out twice a day with the camp’s seasoned lead guide Grant Hovell. Walks are a gentle wander, rather than a race, aiming to take in as many of the sights, sounds and smells of the park as possible. You’ll stop en route for a spot of freshly brewed tea cooked on a fire out in the bush.

In the know

Make sure you keep your eyes on the ground and in the trees during your walks: termites, dung beetles, lizards and of course the park’s 400 species of bird are just as interesting as the more obvious big game.
