Classic, colonial style.
Cape Town’s historic city centre.
With 209 rooms spread across seven wings, we’d never pretend this was small, but it does mean that there’s something for everyone. For a discreet hideaway we’d recommend the Garden Cottages, while the main hotel is ideal for history lovers. The style is a colonial one- think discreet chintz, antique furniture, and corridors designed for two ladies in full ball dresses to pass comfortably.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are delightful, but eating at the Mount Nelson is all about one meal- afternoon tea. The trays heaving with neatly cut sandwiches and a mouth-watering array of cakes are not to be missed. Beyond the dining room, there’s a spa, two large swimming pools, a fitness centre and two tennis courts.
Cape Town is on your doorstep, with all of the delights of the mother city within a short drive. Climbing Table Mountain, taking a helicopter over city and dining in world class restaurants are just some of the many delights on offer. Our top tip? Take advantage of your location and explore Cape Town on foot- the perfect way to get a feel for one of the world’s most charming cities.
Spa lovers should book treatments before travelling- appointments here are justifiably popular!
