An old fashioned safari, uninterrupted by modern life or the sight of other vehicles.
Under whispering trees on a meander of the Bisandani River.
There are just six safari tents here, each with a comfortable bed, and ensuite bathrooms equipped with bush showers.
In the great tradition of bush hospitality, meals are eaten communally in the mess tent, or outside – be it under the stars around the pool, or stopping mid-drive for a surprise breakfast in the bush. The mess tent’s a peaceful place to sit of an afternoon, and we should know – we fell asleep here last time we popped by for tea! For more active types, there’s a lovely little pool, which is perfect during the very hot summer afternoons, and a campfire lit each night.
A typical day would include a dawn start, before setting off on a game drive while the animals are active. The heat of the day brings a snooze (for humans and animals alike), and perhaps a dip in the pool, while later on you’ll head out again as the animals begin hunting for their evening meal. There are visits to the local community, bush walks, and even fishing in the river.
This is one of the few places in East Africa where you can see all of the Big Five, so be sure to pay a visit to the rhino sanctuary, where there are both black and white rhino.
