Rooms at Giraffe Manor

The feel at Giraffe Manor is a colonial one. There are just six colonial style double rooms, and one large family suite. Despite recent refurbishments, the 1930’s feel is still very much alive - think dark wooden furniture, whitewashed walls, and open fires burning in several of the rooms.

Food and facilities

Guests are treated as welcome friends, so meals are normally eaten around one table, with fresh fruits and juices in the mornings, and delicious steaks by night. Our two favourite times of day are evening drinks on the terrace, and breakfast, when more often than not you’ll be joined by a giraffe or two popping their heads through the window.

Activities at Giraffe Manor

While many people view Nairobi purely as an overnight stop, there is certainly enough to do for a day in town. There are visits to the neighbouring Giraffe Centre (naturally), Karen Blixen’s House is nearby, and a visit to the elephant orphanage is one of our favourite things to do in the city.

In the know

Be sure to request Jock’s or Betty’s Room. They cost a little extra, but you may be rewarded by an inquisitive head or two peeking through the windows in the morning.
