Children and cowboys.
The Laikipia Plateau, Northern Kenya.
Eight beautiful stone and thatch cottages and Laragai House, a private bush residence for families and groups seeking the ultimate in exclusivity. There are cosy open fireplaces, private verandahs, and beautiful views over the valley below.
Delicious home-cooked food eaten at a communal table each evening, and an infinity pool with views out over the downs. The lodge also has some excellent horses- both top quality polo ponies for experienced riders, and steadier hacks for children and beginners.
Game drives, by day and by night, spending time on the Dyer family cattle ranch, and walking safaris. Our two favourite things are the horse-riding and mountain biking safaris. Mountain-biking is the latest way to explore the bush, fast enough to provide variety, but even more thrilling than game drives. The riding at Borana is also top-notch and comes highly recommended.
Lovers of the Lion King, keep your eyes peeled. We’ve heard a rumour that Pride Rock is right there on the Borana Ranch…..
