3 NIGHTSPHNOM PENH

You’ll arrive in Cambodia’s capital and make straight for your hotel in the centre, Raffles Le Royal, where you’ll neighbour up with the impressive Royal Palace, sleepy Boeung Kak Lake and the famous Art Deco building of the Central Market. The following morning you’ll learn more about an integral part of the city’s identity with a visit to the heartbreaking Tuol Sleng museum and Killing Fields for a lesson in Cambodia’s troubled past. Afterwards you’ll lunch at Lotus Blanc, which plates up both French and Asian cuisines, prepared and served by graduates of the restaurant’s training scheme for underprivileged young people. Take a leisurely tour of the capital by pedalling past the city sights alongside the locals on a cyclo tour, through winding streets of crumbling colonial architecture in what once was the most beautiful city in French Indochina. After three nights exploring this historic city, you’ll fly to Siem Reap for the remainder of your vacation.

4 NIGHTSSIEM REAP

You'll stay in Phum Baitang, the perfect gateway to the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat – your first port of call and one of the most dramatic sights in Asia, you'll arrive in time to watch the sun dip below its unmistakeable outline. The next morning you’ll go to the vast walled city of Angkor Thom, the Khmer Kingdom’s last capital, its former glory palpable as you enter through the huge carved stone gateway carved. Afterwards, it’s off to Ta Phrom, an atmospheric temple with tentacle-like tree roots creeping over its walls and terraces. Pass a pleasant afternoon cycling through the peaceful countryside outside Siem Reap, past typical stilt houses and with the option to visit a nearby orphanage, meeting and speaking with local children. On your final day you’ll head to Beng Melea, a little-visited temple constructed even before Angkor Wat and thought to be its prototype, before topping off your trip with a visit to the floating village of Kampong Khleang. After a fantastic fortnight of taking in Cambodia's classic sights, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your flight home.
