Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

The beautiful, ancient UNESCO World Heritage-listed Bwindi Impenetrable Forest covers over 330 square kilometres of lush forest and mountains, and has a rich, diverse ecosystem with hundreds of animals and birds as well as trees and plants – including, of course, gorillas. It is home to some 300 mountain gorillas (approximately half the world’s population) living alongside around 350 chimpanzees. Led by expert guides on an exhilarating gorilla trek, you’ll push your way past jungle creepers and undergrowth – rare birds, butterflies and bats flapping in the trees above you – before stopping in your tracks as you come face to face with your primate cousins.

Crouch just metres away from these incredible animals as they preen themselves, grumble away to each other, and – if you’re lucky – shoot you a knowing glance.
