Itinerary details

Okavango Delta

3 nightsMOREMI GAME RESERVE

Fly overnight from London to Johannesburg, on to Maun, and then following a VIP reception you’ll board a light aircraft flight to Chitabe Lediba camp. As with all the camps we’ve chosen for your honeymoon, this tented camp is ultra-exclusive, and with the Moremi Game Reserve all around you, you’ll enjoy spectacular game-drives amidst this classic safari terrain. Having woken up to stunning views over the plains, you’ll head out with your expert guide to tick off the Big Five, and see languorous leopards hanging from the trees. As darkness falls, you’ll also have the privileged opportunity to go out on night drives (not everyone has permission to do this) and spot rare nocturnal wildlife including civet, porcupine, honey badger and bush baby.

3 nightsOKAVANGO DELTA

You’ll now have a 40 minute light-aircraft flight to Little Vumbura, which is totally immersed by the remote northern reaches of the Okavango Delta. Situated on an island in the heart of a private concession, this is the perfect place to experience this watery wildlife Eden. A typical morning here is usually very relaxed, with the chirrups and warbles of the marshes right beneath your veranda. Your guide can whisk you out at dawn to see a passing pride of lions, before treating you to a surprise breakfast in the bush. After this, you can look forward to a day spent weaving through the waterways in a traditional mokoro canoe, coming eye-level with huge herds of elephants as they wade in for a drink, and seeing red lechwe leaping athletically through the waters. Fingers crossed, you’ll also see the spectacular encounters between lions and buffalo (for which the region is famed) before unwinding with your loved one beside the lagoon.

Linyanti

3 nightsLINYANTI RIVER

You’ll now board the 50 minute flight to Duma Tau, which borders the Chobe National Park, and has a stunning setting right on the banks of the Linyanti River. Yet another wonderfully romantic and intimate camp, Duma Tau offers the best of both worlds, with hippo grunting in the waters beneath your veranda, and grassy open plains to explore beyond. It’s also an absolute treat for photographers, with several hides dotted around the camp including one at the source of the Savute River. Spend your days on relaxing boat-trips, with a mesmerising array of wildfowl to be seen along the way, or head out on another game drive to spot lions, and large packs of wild dog which are frequently seen in the area. After toasting your honeymoon with a final sundowner, you’ll fly back to Maun airport, and then on to Johannesburg where you’ll catch an overnight flight back home.
