2 nightsHANOI

Vietnam’s capital is an irresistible blend of ancient and modern, with French colonial architecture, tree-lined boulevards and a thriving arts scene. Enjoy a full-day tour of the city’s highlights, including the attractive streets of the historic Old Quarter, where you can browse colourful craft shops as the tantalising smells of the street food fill the air. We recommend seeing an enchanting water puppet performance – this ancient tradition, which dates from the 11th century, began when the puppets were used to tell stories on the rice paddies. Be in the thick of things at the Hotel de l’Opera in the Old Quarter, which is near the opera house, housed in an impressive colonial building, which puts on performances of classics such as The Nutcracker. You’ll also have numerous temples, galleries and restaurants on the doorstep, and you won’t be far from the pretty Hoan Kiem Lake, where pagodas line the shores and locals practise tai chi every morning as the sun rises over the city. Back at the hotel, relax and unwind in the blissful spa.

2 nightsHALONG BAY

Halong Bay is one of Vietnam’s most impressive natural wonders. Sail on its emerald waters on the stylish Halong Jasmine, a luxurious traditional junk boat that’s perfect for gliding your way around the limestone crags and floating villages. Discover caves full of stalactites and stalagmites, and pristine inlets and bays, and explore hidden islands with idyllic, secluded beaches to relax on. Back onboard, take in the views on your private balcony, and toast your honeymoon with a glass of champagne at sunset.

3 nightsSAIGON

Your next stop is Saigon, where you can discover sights such as the Independence Palace, the Notre-Dame cathedral and the 19th-century Post Office on a full-day tour. Shop in the markets and boutiques, wander around the serene botanical gardens and marvel at the elaborate tiered pagodas. During your stay, visit Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta, surrounded by lush green countryside, where you’ll be rewarded with beautiful, unspoilt views. The waterways are lined with thatch and bamboo houses, with secluded islands, museums, temples, fruit orchards and floating markets to explore.  The An Lam Retreats Saigon River sits in beautiful gardens on the banks of the river, a short scenic boat ride from the city centre. Make the most of your personal butler service, and take a dip in your private pool.

4 nightsHOI AN

The romantic, lantern-lit city of Hoi An is simply beautiful. Thanks to its former life as a major port, it is a cultural melting pot of Japanese merchant houses and Chinese temples, with winding streets of tile-roofed shops and colourful handicraft markets: take in its intoxicating sights and sounds on a walking tour. Venture into the surrounding countryside and tropical palm groves on a buffalo cart, and head out on the water in a traditional basket boat to watch the fishermen cast their nets on the water (you’ll also get to have a go yourself), followed by a delicious meal of fresh seafood. The exquisite Nam Hai, on the beautiful and tranquil Ha My Beach, is one of our favourite hotels in Vietnam, and its luxurious villas come with private landscaped gardens and pools.
