Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The Knai Bang Chatt is located in the seaside town of Kep, on the untouched south-west coast.

Rooms at Knai Bang Chatt

Divided between three renovated art deco style villas, the 18 individually-decorated rooms and suites are minimalist cool, in which muslin-draped elevated teak beds look out over the ocean from the full-length doors leading onto your terrace. Warm earth tones, ceramics and weathered wood furnishings give a decidedly rustic feel to the spacious bedrooms, designed to create a sense of home while the historical artefacts help you to fully immerse yourself in the local culture.

Food & Drink

Possibly the finest restaurant in the town, the menu at The Strand changes daily, depending on what’s in season, and incorporating local herbs and spices for a traditional Khmer flavour. The Sailing Club is a fittingly nautical style navy-and-white open dining room overlooking the sea, serving seafood and international dishes.

Facilities

Unwind with spa treatments which are inspired by Khmer and Asian techniques, while there are also daily yoga and meditation sessions.

The Sailing Club offers offers beginner and intermediate courses if you wish to try your hand at Hobie Cat sailing. You can also rent kayaks, surfboards and bikes at the Discovery Centre.

Activities at Knai Bang Chatt

Pay a visit to Rabbit Island, known for having some of the best beaches in Cambodia, where you can snorkel in its shallow waters and pass an afternoon lazing in a hammock on its palm-fringed beaches. Kep is also famous for its crabs: take a stroll through the market where vendors can steam some up for you or do some people-watching at one of the seafood restaurants that line the shore nearby - and you can also enjoy a traditional fishing trip or a sunset cruise.

Around Kep, visit pepper farms, explore Buddhist shrines in the hidden caves of the limestone mountains in the jungle, or go off the beaten track on a 'moto' (motorised scooter) and see farmers at work in the heart of the Cambodian countryside.
