Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Few, if any, lodges in Ruaha have as spectacular a setting as Jabali Ridge. Raised up on a hilltop, the lodge has been built in amongst large boulders which help to give it a very dramatic feel. The views are breathtaking and allow for some excellent elephant sightings during the dry season.

Rooms at Jabali Ridge

There are eight suites, all of which are set around the main area, with lovely views out across the bush. They are wonderfully spacious and comfortable with mosquito net-draped beds, large bathrooms and discreet serving hatches for morning coffee. The decks have sunken sitting areas and hammocks where you can relax in the afternoon. There is also a three-bedroom private house which comes complete with private swimming pool, chef, butler and safari guide.

Food & drink

A consistent feature of a stay at Jabali Ridge is the quality of the cuisine. From delicious cooked breakfasts to light lunches, often served in the bush, and dinners enjoyed al fresco and cooked over an open fire, you will always be well-fed during a stay here. There is a huge number of places around the lodge to enjoy your meals, with a sheltered clearing in the boulders surrounding it being a favourite spot to enjoy dinner by candlelight.

Facilities

The lodge has a dramatically-located swimming pool on the top level of the lodge, complete with its own bar. There is a library, a small curio shop and a cosy bar area where guests congregate in the evenings.

Activities at Jabali Ridge

Morning and afternoon game drives are the main activity on offer, and are a great way to get up close and personal with Ruaha’s varied wildlife, including elephants, lions and leopards. You can also go on walking safaris with the highly-experienced walking guides from the lodge, and those looking to see predators hunting can opt for a memorable night-time game drive.
