Ultimate Helicopter Adventure

You’ll begin your trip staying in the gorgeous city of Antigua, where El Convento – a charming boutique hotel in the centre of the old town - will be your base for three nights. Spend your free morning wandering the cobbled alleyways, passing colonial ruins and their mountainous backdrops, before taking an afternoon street food tour with a local culinary specialist. On day two you’ll embark upon your first helicopter ride, flying over the protruding volcanoes of the landscape, and stopping to take a hike along the foothills of Pacaya Volcano, weaving through lava rock and spouts of hot steam, before enjoying a luxury picnic with all the trimmings and views to die for.

After a tour of the fascinating Iximche archeological site, where you’ll get the rare opportunity to witness a traditional Shaman ritual, you’ll be transferred to Lake Atitlán. The following two nights will be spent at Casa Palopo; set within the Guatemalan Highlands that overlook Central America’s deepest lake and its bordering volcanoes. During this time, discover the culture of local communities, visiting San Juan and Santiago on the peaceful shores of the lake. It’s then time to climb back aboard your private helicopter, for an aerial tour to the colourful Chichicastenango Market, famed for its beautiful textiles and locally made handcrafts. The helicopter will later continue on to Guatemala City, where you’ll catch a charter flight to Flores in the north.

Accommodating you for the final leg of the trip, La Lancha is a Balinese style lodge set within the rainforest that overlooks Lago Peten. After a free morning exploring the jungle surroundings, you’ll embark upon a romantic sunset tour of the Yaxha archeological site. Watch the sun descend over ancient Mayan temples, colouring the acropolis in warm hues for some spectacular photo opportunities. The Mayan theme will then continue into the following day, for a tour of the world-famous Tikal site. Enjoy a luxurious picnic within the ancient city, and climb the steps up the ruins for panoramas over the encasing rainforest canopy.
