3 nightsOKAVANGO DELTA

Fly overnight to Johannesburg, connect to Maun in Botswana, and then take a light aircraft flight to Duba Plains which sits right in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Intimate and totally remote, this camp is the perfect place to relax before the canoe trail and experience one of the most beautiful and game-rich regions in Botswana. Each day you’ll plunge right into the floodplains in a deep-water 4x4, and also a motorised boat: sitting back and relaxing as you're guided through a world lily pads, beautiful birds, and hippo. Back on dry land, Duba Plains is known for incredible clashes between lion and buffalo.

4 nightsSELINDA ADVENTURE TRAIL

After a final morning of game activity at Duba Plains, you’ll fly to the Selinda Reserve. Here you’ll have a two to three hour game drive to the starting point of the Selinda Adventure Trail, and begin canoeing the 45km trail in the late afternoon. We just can’t emphasize how fascinating and beautiful this rarefied spillway is, and with each night spent fly-camping wherever the mood takes you, you’ll have an incredible sense of freedom. You'll spot elephants, buffalos and kaleidoscopic birds, and you might even have a hippo accompanying you on your journey. You’ll also wade through the marshes for a walk in the bush, before enjoying a lazy lunch. By night, you’ll settle down in your comfy domed tents (which the guides will have set up for you) and listen out for the sound of whooping hyena.

2 nightsSELINDA CONCESSION

After all that canoeing, we’ve picked the ultra-luxurious Zarafa Camp (a member of Relais and Chateaux) where you can ease your aching muscles and encounter some serious predator action. National Geographic filmmakers Dereck & Beverly Joubert own this camp and you’ll soon see why they’ve chosen this location as you head out on game-drives and see huge herds of elephant, large game clashes (including lion versus hippo) – and if you’re lucky, Bokamoso the leopard who has often been spotted near camp. Finally, you'll take a light aircraft to Maun, and then fly back to Johannesburg where you’ll catch an overnight flight back home.
