Mafia Island, Tanzania
Peaceful and serene, Mafia Island, Tanzania is completely unspoilt and so is the diving. This hideaway island paradise is as perfect for adventures under the sea as it is soaking up the sun on the banks of its pristine lagoons. Travel between Jan–March for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dive with the gentle giants of the ocean, Whale Sharks.
South America might not be the first place you think of for diving adventures but the Galapagos is without a doubt one of the world’s finest dive spots. Playful sealions and marine turtles dive around you, Manta Rays skip underneath and majestic Whale Sharks come out to play between May-Nov. Simply incredible.
Baa Atol, Maldives
The Maldives is a haven for water lovers, but for the best diving experience we recommend heading for the Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru. Here your aquatic adventures are biologist-led and you’ll have the chance to encounter Manta Rays and Whale Sharks. For an extra adventure, hop on board a SEABOB (underwater scooter) or take a trip on the hotels own live-aboard dive vessel.
Pulau Tenggole, Malaysia
Just 30km away from one of our favourite Malaysian retreats, Tanjong Jara, Pulau Tenggol is a small island bursting with incredible diving locations. Highways of barracuda flash through the clear water while odd looking sea anemones surround the calm corals. This little-known gem is our top pick for divers keen exploring the best of South East Asia.
Lake Malawi, Malawi
An utterly incredible destination in which to don your snorkel, Lake Malawi is a place for Africa lovers looking to swap a dose of wildlife for fantastic marine life. Crystal clear, still water, Lake Malawi is home to literally thousands of endemic fish and Cichlids giving you a totally unique diving experience.
