Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The lodgings were built in the mid-1990s, but were deliberately designed in a traditional style, using the expertise of local craftspeople. The building methods and materials used are all sustainable, in line with the hotel’s eco-friendly ethos. Adobe walls of rammed earth retain heat brilliantly, while roof and floor tiles are made of native red clay.

Rooms at Casa Mojanda

Casa Mojanda’s lodgings are scattered around the farm’s grounds, meaning that each enjoys a degree of privacy and boasts beautiful views over the Andean countryside. The rooms have a rustic feel, with exposed wooden beams and beautiful furniture hand-carved from Ecuadorian cedar. Traditional local textiles adorn the walls, along with unique decorative features such as Ecuadorian masks, lithographs and drawings relating to the local area and its history.

Food & Drink

Casa Mojanda’s restaurant has something to satisfy all tastes, serving up delicious Ecuadorian and international cuisine. The kitchen makes full use of the farm’s extensive organic gardens, with wheat, quinoa, corn and potatoes all grown here. Fresh milk is brought in daily from the neighbouring farm. Special dietary requirements will happily be accommodated.

Facilities

The hotel is home to a cosy library, an extensive film collection, and a games room – all great for a rainy day or cosy evening. The traditional Japanese-style hot tub is perfect for relaxing in after a day’s adventures in the great outdoors. The hotel is a great destination for a family holiday, and children are welcome.
