Mutiara Taman Negara

Location: Peninsular Malaysia | Malaysia & Borneo

Accessible only by long tail boat, the eco-friendly Mutiara Taman Negara hides in the depths of one of the oldest rainforests in the world. The only resort in Peninsula Malaysia’s largest National Park, it’s a charming hideaway that stretches along a meandering river, where curious monkeys come right up to the wooden chalets.
Perfect forJungle-enthusiasts who want to venture that bit further, and explore the parts that most never will.
In the knowThe only people permitted to hunt in the rainforest are its original inhabitants, the Orang Asli. They live a nomadic lifestyle but you can visit their temporary dwellings, which offer a fascinating glimpse into life in the jungle.

Hotel Overview

Where

A long way from the crowds, on a quiet peninsula engulfed by 4,343 square kilometres of virgin jungle.

Rooms at Mutiara Taman Negara

Many of the rustic bungalows and chalets overlook the majestic Tembeling River, and while some are large enough for families, others are more intimate and perfect for couples. From your veranda you may well be able to spot some of the rainforest's incredible wildlife, from macaques to porcupine and the super-cute slow loris.

Food and Facilities

At the relaxed Seri Mutiara Restaurant you can dine on Asian and Western cuisine. With no walls, the restaurant has a lovely al-fresco feel, and the wonderful Malaysian climate means you can dine in warmth long after sunset. At its centre, the restaurant has a small bar, where you can enjoy a cocktail or two accompanied by the sounds of the rainforest.

Activities at Mutiara Taman Negara

Following the walking trails, you're likely to see huge troops of monkeys high up in the treetops and tropical birds squawking the soundtrack of the jungle. Though the large mammals tend to remain hidden, you may well come across tiger footprints or evidence of elephants crashing through the thickets. Among its natural wonders, the rainforest hides some beautiful waterfalls, where you can bathe in pristine, glistening waters. From the 40 metre high canopy walkway (the world’s longest), the jungle vistas are simply spectacular, and on a boat cruise you can explore your sublime surroundings by river.
