Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The Amala is in Seminyak, on the coast of southern Bali.

Rooms at The Amala

Walk through the lush vegetation of the tranquil grounds before entering one of the luxurious villas, which combine both Eastern and Western architecture with local natural materials. The spacious rooms provide deep brown, wooden-beamed roofs alongside gleaming marble floors and elegant yet rustic furnishings made from wicker. Wake up in plush four-poster beds with trailing mosquito nets and step out onto the expansive stone balcony to soak up the tropical atmosphere alongside a replenishing cup of tea.

While the Spa Villas have plunge pools, opt for the Pool Villas for outdoor kitchenettes, living and dining areas and private pools with trickling waterfalls.

Food & Drink

Head to the poolside Bamboo restaurant for a hearty breakfast and a fusion of Asian and international cuisine throughout the day with organic and raw foods being used wherever possible - be sure to try the signature poached Mahi-Mahi fillet. Guests also have the opportunity to take a cooking class from the chef and learn about the secrets of Balinese cuisine.

Facilities

Start the day with a relaxing yoga class in the wellness studio before taking a blissful swim in the swimming pool, surrounded by frangipani trees, green lawns and loungers.

Relax with a good book and a refreshing drink and soak up some sun before treating yourself to a soothing massage at the spa which sits at the heart of the tranquil grounds. Put yourself in the hands of the expert spa therapists, who are trained in both Asian and Western holistic philosophies.

Activities at The Amala

When it's time to venture out, head to Seminyak beach nearby and watch the sun set on the ocean or dip in and out of the many art galleries in the area. An array of restaurants and cafes await at Eat Street, while the Seminyak Village Mall provides the perfect solution for your retail therapy needs. Take a few surfing lessons at Santai Surf School, or make a day of it and visit the Ubud Palace and market or the Monkey Forest.
