Luxury Cambodia and Laos Holidays

Watching the sun rise over Angkor Wat, enveloped in mist, rates pretty highly on our list of most magical travel experiences, and a visit to the world's largest temple complex, much of it still in the grip of dense jungle, is a must on any itinerary. But Cambodia is more than Angkor. Spend a few days in the charismatic capital, Phnom Penh, with its tree-lined boulevards, French-colonial architecture and cafe culture, or head to sleepy fishing villages and unspoilt beaches on the South China Sea.

Meanwhile, prepare to fall in love with Laos, a delightful mix of quaint streets in French-style towns, rivers running through forest-clad mountains and limestone caves, enigmatic history on the Plain of Jars and a colourful, exotic culture just waiting to be discovered.

Angkor temples
500 temples dating back 600-900 years make up this incredible complex deep in the Cambodian jungle. Best known (and preserved) is Angkor Wat, but you’ll need a good few days to explore all the area has to offer.  Stay at either Amansara or La Residence d'Angkor.
Phnom Penh

Vibrant city with a heart-breaking history, Cambodia’s capital is a pleasure. Charming river-fronts, French-Indonesian architecture, a stunning Royal Palace and some fascinating museums.  Culture vultures will love our Old Meets new in Southeast Asia itinerary.

Kep
Close to the Vietnamese border is the quiet village of Kep, home to hauntingly beautiful French architecture, lovely sandy beaches and nearby Bokor National Park.

Luang Prabang
Charming, serene UNESCO town and our favourite in Laos. Witness hundreds of orange-robed monks making their early morning alms rounds through these peaceful streets.  Whilst in town, stay at La Residence Phou Vao or at Amantaka.  Or for a more comprehensive itinerary, take a look at our Thai Express & Mekong Magic trip that takes you through this delightful town.

Vientiane
Compared to other cities in the region, the capital of Laos is wonderfully relaxed. Take in some temples or simply watch the sun setting over the Mekong with a cold Beerlao.
