Mad About Morocco | Morocco | 12 nights
Morocco is just perfect for adventurous families. Only four hours away and yet another world that all the family can appreciate. Our sample itinerary takes in Fez, Marrakech, Essouira and the Atlas Mountains – but we can tailor it to suit you.
Perfect for… families who can’t sit still for long and like action and adventure.
When to go… this is the ideal Easter or October half-term break when skies are blue and temperatures comfortable.
Consider… the lovely Jnane Tamsna outside Marrakech offers cookery and botany classes for all ages in their extensive gardens. A hot air balloon ride over the Atlas will put a smile on everybody’s face.
- Fly to Fez and find your self at once immersed in Moroccan culture and history. Spend three nights in a local riad. Our guide will help you navigate the twisting streets through the souks and nearby Roman ruins
- Hop on the train to Marrakech, a full day’s journey. Once there, you are met by our local guide and transferred to the palm groves of La Palmeraie, 15 minutes from Marrakech. Spend three nights at Jnane Tamsna with pools and tennis courts and dip into the Medina for tours through the souks.
- Now to the sea. We drive you to the Atlantic Coast for three nights in pretty Essouira staying at L'heure Bleue. Water sports rule on this gusty coastline so you can try your hand at sailing, wind surfing and kite surfing.
- Last stop: the Atlas Mountains. We transfer you to Kasbah du Toubkal (around four hours), a restored fort in a truly awesome setting in the High Atlas. The Kasbah has a comfortable two-bedroom apartment for families and gentle treks to local Berber villages can be arranged.
- After your three nights in the mountains, we transfer you back to Marrakech (three hours) in time for your return flight.
