Namibia Wing Safari | Namibia | 12 nights
Namibia is a photographer's dream and adventurer's paradise. Stunning landscapes, nomadic tribes and rare endangered animals make for an incredible journey into the wilderness. Take to the air to experience the dramatic scenery from above and witness one of the most remote and inaccessible places on earth.
Perfect for… desert lovers, photographers – in fact anybody looking for a visually stunning journey into one of the earth’s last frontiers.
When to go… all year around, but go in February to see the desert oasis Serra Cafema in bloom.
Consider… need more wildlife? Then head to the Etosha National Park and cross the border into Botswana’s Okavango Delta for a watery wilderness to counter those Namibian deserts.
- Your adventure starts with a night in Namibia’s German-influenced capital, Windhoek. The next morning, you’ll board your light aircraft for your first flight to Sossusvlei, stopping at the dramatic Fish River Canyon and the deserted old diamond town of Kolmanskop, before crossing the spectacular Namib desert to Wolvedans Dunes Lodge for two nights among huge red sand dunes and herds of oryx, springbok and ostrich. We include a hot air balloon ride at sunrise.
- From Sossusvlei you will be flown to coastal town of Walvis Bay to leisurely cruise the coastal waters in search of dolphins and visiting humpback whales before short drive to Swakopmund for two nights to enjoy its adrenaline-fuelled activities. Skydiving, quad biking and sand boarding on the giant dunes are all on offer and watching the sunset from the pier is a must.
- Damaraland is our next stop, home to largest population of free roaming black rhino anywhere in the world. Over your two night stay at the Desert Rhino Camp you will track black rhino in the desert on foot. This is a life changing experience with specially trained guides, who take you as close as you feel comfortable to these magnificent animals.
- Next your plane takes you to the Skeleton Coast, home to vast windswept plains, sand dunes, canyons and battered Atlantic coastline littered with shipwrecks. You will spend two nights discovering its remote, desolate beauty from your camp.
- Now we fly you to spectacular Koakaveld in northern Namibia and to the Serra Cafema Camp. Home to the Himba people, one of the only true nomadic people of Africa, the area offers you the rare opportunity to visit their villages and learn about their nomadic life. Serra Cafema is one the most memorable destinations in Namibia and the perfect place to spend your final three nights.
- Your final flight takes you back to Windhoek where you connect with your return flight home.
