And the rooms… a mixture of thatch-roofed villas and pavilions built using local materials with private walled gardens. Sunken baths are a highlight and the clean-lined interiors with plenty of teak, richly woven carpets and local crafts blend harmoniously with the surroundings. 
 
Food and facilities… the Lumbung Restaurant and Sunbird Café offer delicious Asian and Continental food with gorgeous ocean views, or you can dine in the privacy of your own villa. Facilities include a fabulous spa, gym, tennis court and a beach club with snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing and deep-sea fishing. There’s also a golf course 10 minutes’ away. But we think you’ll spend most of the time simply relaxing and soaking up the Indonesian sunshine.

Activities… if you’re not busy enough doing nothing, then you can always indulge in a spa treatment or work off the extra calories in the gym. A trip to the Sending Gale Waterfall is a must and the hotel has mountain bikes if you fancy exploring.

In the know… the views are great but this isn’t the best beach in the world, so we recommend taking a villa with private pool – bliss!
