Rincon del Socorro | Ibera | Argentina
Rincon del Socorro is a wildlife-lovers haven, an eco-estancia in Argentina’s North-Eastern wetlands. The 30000-acre former cattle ranch has been transformed into a conservation nature reserve to protect the wildlife and landscapes.
Perfect for... wildlife enthusiasts and those in search of a beautiful, off the beaten track destination.
Where... Iberá wetlands in north-eastern Argentina.
And the rooms... a small eco-friendly hosteria with six traditional, individually designed rooms in the main house and three small bungalows nearby.
Food & facilities... with organic orchards, free-range Argentine meat and a kitchen garden that Jamie Oliver would be proud to own, its no wonder that food is a real treat at Rincon del Socorro. The main house has a large indoor living room and there’s a great terraced dining area for barbeques during the summer months.
Activities... take a trip to the Iberá lagoon to see caimans, capybaras, deer and monkeys. Equally as impressive are the night safaris to see the nocturnal wildlife of the area. There’s spectacular bird watching as well as horse riding and cycling and after all this, there’s a swimming pool, to cool down after the day’s activities.
In the know... combine your stay at Rincon del Socorro with a trip to the Iguazu Falls. You can either fly directly to the estancia or go overland by car with an overnight stay en-route. Go by land and you can visit the Jesuit Missions.
