| | | | Serra Cafema | | Serra Cafema lies in the northwest of Namibia and is one of the most remote camps in southern Africa. The region is home to the nomadic Himba people as well as rugged mountains and sand dunes. Serra Cafema camp is on the banks of the Kunene River, the region’s only permanent source of water.
It consists of only eight en suite thatched chalets, a small swimming pool, dining room and bar. The camp is kept cool even in the summer by the winds that blow from the Atlantic.
Activities include crossing the sand dunes in 4x4s, quad biking, nature walks and boating on the river in search of crocodiles. You can also visit the breathtaking Hartmann Valley where you can see herds of springbok, ostrich and even leopard.
Serra Cafema is only accessible by aircraft.
