| | | | Nkwichi Lodge | | Nkwichi Lodge is located on the western shores of Lake Niassa (Lake Malawi) in an area known as the Manda Wilderness. The lodge has played an important part in Mozambique’s renaissance, acting as a shining light for responsible tourism. The lodge can only be reached by boat, usually from nearby Likoma Island via the village of Cobwe.
There are seven chalets in total, each different and crafted using local stone and wood. Breezes blow from the lake under the shady thatched roofs. Open air bathrooms are built separately but within yards of the chalets. They include a special rock bath and tree shower.
Activities range from walking trips and birdwatching to motorboat trips and canoeing on the lake.
