| | | | Kiwayu | | Kiwayu is a beach hideaway near Lamu on the north Kenya coast, set under the shadow of palms with panoramic ocean views and kaleidescopic sunsets.
There are eighteen Swahili style bandas, rustically designed with palm thatch and woven grass mat floors. Each is spacious and comfortable inside with an enormous bedroom, adjoining dressing area and bathroom. To the front, a private sea-facing veranda with hammock and brightly coloured cushions is the perfect spot to laze the days away.
Snorkelling is a highlight with dramtic marine life along the reef, particularly from November to March. Take to the water by motorboat and explore the creeks and inlets or hop on a traditional dhow for a peaceful trip along the local waterways. Fishing is excellent with the opportunity of catching barracuda, kingfish, marlin, snapper, sailfish, tuna and wahoo.
