| | | | Kaya Mawa | | Lying in the northeast of Lake Malawi on Likoma Island, Kaya Mawa Lodge is surrounded by ancient baobabs, sandy beaches and rocky coves. Kaya Mawa means “maybe tomorrow” in the local dialect and the lodge was built entirely by hand.
Seven stone and teak-framed thatch cottages are set into a granite headland. Each cottage faces the crystal-clear waters of the lake and has a mahogany four-poster bed, a sunken stone bath, shower and private terraces. The honeymoon house is tucked away on its own private island, accessible only by boat.
Activities include scuba and PADI diving courses, snorkelling, sailing and visits to local villages.
