| | | | Eden Rock | | St Barths is the most French of all the French Caribbean islands, save for a few hints of its former Swedish ownership in the chic little capital Gustavia. Even Gustavia though is crammed with St Tropez style boutiques, restaurants and cafés. St Barths is a pretty, hilly island with lots of little coves, and wonderful beaches, and a very fashionable, faithful clientele.
On a promontory extending out over the warm blue waters of the Caribbean stands Eden Rock; one of the most stylish and chic spots on St Barths and a member of the world class Relais & Chateaux group. Redeveloped in 2005 the property now comprises 31 lavish beach rooms, suites, cottages and beach houses. Sea views don't come much better than this, with the suites situated on the rock seeming to float on the water. There are two excellent restaurants, the casual Sand Bar (lunch in style right on the beach) or the cliff top On-the-Rocks restaurant and Tapas bar that offers dramatic sea views. Spa treatments are available on your private terrace in the open air and there is a range of watersports on the beach. Privately run by its English owners and their team whose immaculate attention to detail is evident throughout the property. Children of all ages are welcome.
Eden Rock will be closed this year between 2nd September - 14th October 2007.
