Kkala Hotel
Khala is a charming homely B&B-style hotel set in an elegant villa in the colonial town of Salta, imaginatively furnished with antiques and funky handicrafts and surrounded by pretty gardens.
Anyone looking for a suitably cosy and relaxed base from which to explore the charms of Salta and its surroundings.
Salta, Argentina.
There are just six rooms at Kkala, each creatively decorated, with richly coloured bedspreads, rug-strewn wooden floors and local handicrafts. All rooms have king or twin beds with luxurious cotton sheets, mini bar, and LCD TV. Some have jacuzzis.
A hearty breakfast is served every day in the elegant dining room with its views of the surrounding hills. Kkala also offers home-cooked meals of traditional Argentine country cooking on request, including an outdoor parradilla (barbeque) of roasted meats cooked in an adobe oven. There’s a cosy library with an open fireplace, honesty bar and an outdoor swimming pool, sun-filled patio and deck.
Kkala can organize guided city tours of the charming historical town of Salta, along with trips to the nearby vineyards, trekking, horseriding, rafting, paragliding and golf.
Every year on June 17th, the people of Salta celebrate the gaucho (cowboy) culture with a parade in honour of the 18th-century gaucho freedom fighter, Martín Miguel de Güemes.
