Maipu, Mendoza, Argentina.
The rooms at Club Tapiz are spread between the historical ranch house, Casa Zolo, and the main clubhouse. All of the rooms have lustrous wooden floors, elegant Colonial-style furnishings, wifi, and cable TV.
The Club’s Terruño restaurant combines the best of the region’s cuisine with some international influences. Local produce such as game and meat is combined with healthy organic vegetables from the estate’s garden. Naturally wine is the focus, with an extensive list including regional, national and international favourites, alongside the hotel’s own blends. If you need to detox after a sampling session, there’s a swimming pool and a series of massage rooms offering therapeutic treatments, yoga and reiki.
The hotel has bicycles to rent, perfect for a leisurely pedal to surrounding wineries. Hiking, horse riding and canopy tours are also on offer in the surrounding Andean hills. Closer to home, you can visit the estate’s winery for a free tasting or sample the delectable goods on offer at the olive oil factory.
Club Tapiz allows its guests to take part in the various tasks associated with its vineyard. Sign up to the ‘Follow My Leader’ program and you could find yourself hand picking your own basket of grapes.
