When to go

March to December is the best time to visit with temperate, sunny days. September is a particularly colourful month (check out blooming jacarandas, orange trees and lapachos (with its bright pink flowers).

    BUENOS AIRES - 3 nights
    We fly you to buzzing Buenos Aires, where you’ll check in to one of our favourites, Legado Mitico. This boutique bolthole is perfectly located in Palermo Viejo, one of the most up-and-coming districts of Buenos Aires with all the best bars and restaurants right on your doorstep. Take a half-day tour with one of our specialist guides, before enjoying VIP seats at an evening tango show and a first class dinner at an authentic Argentine theatre.

    TILCARA - 2 nights
    From Buenos Aires, it’s a short flight up to Salta, where dramatic Andean landscape awaits. With your transfer from Salta taking you through the well-known village of Pumamarca, famously overlooked by a mountain of seven colours, continue on to Las Marias in Tilcara where you’ll spend a couple of nights. The next day you’ll explore the impressive Humahuaca Canyon, a valley 155 miles long inhabited by ancient cultures and the Salinas Grandes, surreal salt flats approached over the infamous Lipan Slope!

    SALTA - 2 nights
    Then it’s a transfer back to the colonial town of Salta and a two night stay in the small, welcoming Khala Hotel - a great base from which to explore this buzzy town.

    From Khala you’ll travel to the beautiful little-visited colonial town of Cachi via the Obispo pass, a dramatic winding road through the Obispo mountains, for a night at La Merced del Alto, with its breathtaking 360 degree views of the surrounding snowcapped mountains.
