Perfect for

Active explorers with a passion for wildlife and dramatic landscapes.

When to go

Weather wise, temperatures are at their best in Patagonia between November to March. Wildlife, including orcas (the prime hunting season is March/April), dolphins and penguins, can be seen year-round; however if you want to see whales on your trip, travel between July and December.

Consider

Tagging on a few days in the Lake district and driving up to Rio Hermoso. This route will take you along The Seven Lakes Road (Camino de los Siete Lagos), a 107 km road that traverses the Lanin and Nahuel Huapi National Parks and arguably one of the most scenic in Argentina, if not South America. If you do have time, this drive comes very highly recommended! You can drop off your car at Chapelco airport and fly back from there to Buenos Aires.
