Perfect for

Active families, couples and honeymooners looking for an authentic jungle eco-adventure with no compromise on five star trimmings.

Where

Pacuare Lodge is located in Central Costa Rica, a couple of hours by land from San Jose. The journey takes a little longer if you opt for the adventurous option: to arrive by boat – a 1.5 hour raft along the Pacuare River through some of Central America’s most exhilarating rapids.

Rooms at Pacuare Lodge

Pacuare Lodge has 19 spacious palm-thatched wooden bungalows which includes the totally unique Canopy Honeymoon Suite, a treehouse accessed by its own suspension bridge. You might be in the middle of the jungle but you're hardly slumming it: each room has a king-size bed, private deck, solar heated shower and some have their own spring-fed plunge pools. Rooms are screened, and at night are illuminated by hundreds of candles.

Food and Facilities

Dine in the open air restaurant looking out across the tropical rainforest. The food at Pacuare Lodge is a true highlight serving delicious and sophisticated cuisine. Dedicated to sustainable and socially responsible tourism, Pacuare has terrific eco-credentials causing minimal impact on the environment and is carbon-neutral.

Activities at Pacuare Lodge

Exhilarating white-water rafting, canopy adventure tours, ziplining through the trees, hiking to waterfalls and horse riding. It’s safe to say there’s not a chance you’ll get bored. Give something back to nature and take part in Pacuare’s ‘Plant a Tree Program'. Activities taken their toll? Two masseuses are on call to soothe aching muscles.
