Coffee lovers and greenies
Costa Rica’s central valley, 15 minutes from San José International Airport.
Elegant yet whimsical, the hotel’s thirteen rooms are decorated in vibrant, funky colours and adorned with modern art murals and quirky touches such as handmade tiles, open air bathtubs and bedframes made of gnarled wood. All include jacuzzis and minibars as well as private verandas or secluded patios.
El Tigre Vestido Restaurant and Bar Buho are located in the owners’ former home, with expansive decks, fireplaces and relaxing couches. Subtly flavoured fusion Costa Rican/international menus are created using local fresh seafood and organic meats and poultry. Typical dishes include roasted cashew soup and the tree tomato and mango salad. There’s a chemical-free infinity swimming pool and a spa which runs private yoga and tai chi classes.
Climb to 4,000 feet toward the Barva Volcano in Braulio Carillo National Park, or take an in-depth coffee tour of the hotel’s organic sustainable coffee farm. Other tours include white water rafting, cultural visits to the colonial towns of Barva and Heredi, birdwatching trips and tours of historic San José.
Ask your spa lady to run you an organic coffee, clove and citrus bath – pure heaven.
