Boutique hotel fans with an eye for design.
In its namesake district, Condesa, a hip and happening neighbourhood with great nightlife. It will take around 30 minutes to reach Condesa DF from Mexico City airport, depending on traffic.
Just 40 rooms and suites offer simple, playful design with i-pods in the rooms pre-loaded with suitably cool tunes and wireless internet throughout. We love the Top Suite with its enormous wrap-around terrace offering views over Condesa.
The rooftop bar serves sushi while downstairs El Patio offers more substantial fare successfully combining Mexican, European and Asian influences. Condesa DF also has a small spa with hammam and gym as well as a shallow rooftop pool for refreshing dips.
You’ll no doubt be out and about during the day visiting the huge amount of attractions Mexico City has to offer from Aztec archaeological sites, excellent museums to floating markets, cooking classes and charming, bohemian districts. Condesa’s cooling patios and terraces make it a great place to come back to after a day’s sightseeing.
Two tips: Mexicans know Mexico City as D.F. (pronounced day effay), which stands for Distrito Federal (or Federal District). Watch out for weekends, when Condesa DF’s bar and restaurant is a mecca for local nightlife. Great if you want to join in, not so great if you need to get some shut-eye.
